Amanda Woods is a registered nurse and legal nurse consultant with more than 12 years of nursing experience, including extensive experience in critical care, trauma, traumatic brain injury, postoperative care, and outpatient surgery. She provides both testifying expert services and non-testifying nurse consulting to attorneys in cases involving nursing care, injury, and complex medical records.
Her clinical background includes ICU and trauma nursing, rapid response and Code Blue teams, post-anesthesia care (PACU), preoperative and outpatient surgical care, and emergency medical services. Her EMS experience provides additional perspective when evaluating on-scene and prehospital care, patient assessment and transport, and the transition from EMS to emergency and inpatient care.
Amanda assists attorneys with medical record review, nursing standard-of-care analysis, case screening, medical chronologies and timelines, identification of missing records and key clinical issues, and evaluation of injuries and clinical care. Areas of particular focus include critical care, traumatic brain injury, postoperative complications, and perioperative nursing.
Her experience also extends to school and community nursing, allowing her to consult on cases involving schools, camps, childcare/daycare settings, medication management, emergency response, and student health and safety.
